Frank Thissen

Since the middle of the eighties, Prof. Dr. Frank Thissen works on the possibilities and potentials of computer based learning. Since 1997 he teaches Didactics of Multimedia, Information Design, Techniques of Creativity and Intercultural Communication at Stuttgart Media University (HdM - Hochschule der Medien in Stuttgart).

In 2001 the degree course Information Design, Prof. Thissen developed, was founded as an innovative and interdisciplinary study program. Until 1997 he held various positions with Heinrich-Heine-University Düsseldorf, Siemens AG and SAP AG.
In his research, he focusses on new e-learning-methods, the impact of emotions and stories on learning processes and the relevance of cultural effects on learning and design of knowledge media.

Currently he works on a publication in which he elaborates story based learning.
